St. Mary Medical Center Employees Embrace Season of Giving

2014-ST-MARY-GIVING-TREESt. Mary Medical Center employees collected and donated Christmas gifts for 32 families and children in need in the Hobart area, as part of the hospital’s annual Giving Tree campaign. Each year tags containing the holiday wishes of anonymous children and families are displayed on a Christmas tree, which are then chosen and fulfilled by various members of the hospital staff.

“I am so grateful for the generosity shown by the staff here at St. Mary Medical Center,” says Irma Baca, phlebotomist and Giving Tree chairperson. “The employees here truly give from their hearts. We were able to collect Christmas gifts for 88 children and 7 seniors in need, and collect supplies for Sojourner Truth. It is such a privilege and so rewarding to be able to make so many families’ holiday season brighter.”

The Giving Tree is an annual benefit organized by the Christian Awareness Committee, an organization overseen by St. Mary Medical Center employees and managers who gather together to provide a means of inspiring and maintaining the spirit of CARING.
