Free Health Fair Was a Big Hit for Centers for Vein Care!

The doctors and staff at Centers For Vein Care are focused on educating the community on venous disease symptoms and the treatments available. “Many people think venous disease is just about varicose veins and spider veins,” Dr. Prasad said. “They don’t realize that more common symptoms such as leg swelling, leg fatigue, and leg cramping can be an indication of venous disease. We’re hosting several health fairs this year to inform our community about venous disease and answer questions they may have.”

From the outcome of last Saturday’s event, the public is definitely interested in learning about venous disease! It was the first health fair for the Munster clinic and 21 people attended! The event included:

  • Stretching techniques with a physical therapist
  • Chair massage
  • Blood pressure readings
  • Vein ultrasound
  • Personal consult with a doctor
  • Refreshments and raffle prizes

“There are certainly some cosmetic benefits to treating varicose veins and spider veins,” Dr. Prasad explained. “But venous disease is a medical condition with treatment options available. With treatment, symptoms are alleviated and our patients experience better health and improved quality of life.”
