Strolling for a Cause

The 9th annual Visiting Nurse Association's Stroll for Hospice will take place on Sunday, April 25th at 1 pm,Team-Jamie with registration beginning at 12 noon. The 3-mile Stroll will begin and end at the new VNA building located at 2401 Valley Drive in Valparaiso. Advance registration is available online at www.firstgiving.com/vnaportercounty, or by phone at 219-462-5195. Registration is $10 per walker and children 18 and under are free. Team rates are also available for teams of 6 or more.

After the stroll, walkers are invited to stay for a celebration cookout and awards ceremony. The Stroll for Hospice brings people together to remember their loved ones while supporting the mission of the VNA Hospice Program. Hospice is a way of caring that brings comfort to persons living with a terminal illness and gives support to them as well as their families.

This is a family-friendly event; wheelchairs, strollers and well-behaved pets on leashes are welcome! Participants may walk in memory of a loved one, friend or co-worker and collect pledges to support the VNA Hospice Program. New to the VNA this year is an exciting online fundraising tool, which can reach potential donors near and far in the click of a mouse. Visit www.firstgiving.com/vnaportercounty to create an online fundraising page in less then 20 minutes. Awards will be given to the top fundraisers in the individual and team categories.
