Crossroads-Hometown-Festival-Days-1Hometown Festival Days bring over 10,000 people to downtown Crown Point, Indiana in June. This year’s 2012 Hometown Festival days will be bigger and better than ever!

Festival Days kick-off on Friday, June 15th and Saturday, June 16th with The Corn Roast. The Corn Roast hours are Friday 4-11pm and Saturday Noon-11pm. The popular band, Mr. Funnyman, will take the stage on Friday evening. On Saturday night another local favorite, The Retropolitans, will perform. A large children’s play area, plenty of delicious food and beverages, and the famous Shriner’s corn make this a family friendly party you will not want to miss! From 6am on June 15th until midnight on June 16th Main Street between Walnut Street and Clark Street and Joliet Street between Court Street and East Street will be closed to traffic.

Great-Lake-Sound-ChorusGreat Lake Sound Chorus is not only a Sweet Adeline Women’s Barbershop chorus, but they are a wonderfully diverse group of women, unbelievably talented and dedicated to the work it takes to succeed.

On May 5th, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, thirteen choruses, ranging from 16 to 83 members, competed. When the announcements were made, Great Lake Sound was excited to hear their name. Third Place Small Chorus Award goes to….Great Lake Sound Chorus of Valparaiso, Indiana. A few minutes later when the Fifth Place Overall Award was announced it was hard to even hear what was being said because of the screams of 17 ladies from Valparaiso. Great Lake Sound Chorus had won again.
