Whispering Pines Health Care Center, Valparaiso IN, has earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QCRC) as part of a program designed by The American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC), to ensure that residents cared for by long term care facilities have access to respiratory care services provided by qualified respiratory therapists.
Whispering Pines Health Care Center’s Ventilator Care Unit is one of only three (3) facilities in the State of Indiana to achieve this recognition. Whispering Pines Ventilator Care Unit is under the direction of William Willer, Respiratory Consultant.
The American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) started the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) program in 2003 to help consumers make informed choices about their health care. The program initially enrolled hospitals that agreed to ensure patient safety by adhering to a strict set of criteria governing their respiratory care services. The association recently added long-term care facilities to the program.
Q.R.C.R. – Quality Respiratory Care Recognition means first rate respiratory care as the long-term care facilities receiving the American Association for Respiratory Care’s (AARC) designation meet strict safety and quality standards related to the provision of respiratory care services by qualified respiratory therapists. One of several criteria for this designation is that respiratory therapists are available and staffed 24 hours.
