Seven Valpo Basketball Games to be Seen Live on Lakeshore Public Television

The Valparaiso athletic department and Lakeshore Public Television have again teamed up for the 2009-2010 basketball season, as six Crusader men’s basketball games and one Crusader women’s basketball game will be broadcast live on Lakeshore this year.

"We are excited to be partnering with Lakeshore Public Television for another year of Crusader basketball broadcasts,” said Valparaiso athletic director Mark LaBarbera. “We are looking forward to some great Horizon League basketball action and are very pleased that Valpo fans, as well as all the basketball fans in Northwest Indiana and Chicago, will be able to watch."

The broadcast schedule begins when the Crusaders host Toledo at the ARC on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. The next broadcast will come after the new year, when Valpo takes on Green Bay at the ARC at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2. Two days later, the Crusader women take the stage for a 7:05 p.m. game against Loyola.

Fans will then be able to catch a pair of Crusader road game on Lakeshore, with Valpo’s game at Loyola being shown at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, while the game on Sunday, Jan. 31 at Green Bay will be televised at 1 p.m. Valpo’s games against the fellow Chicagoland schools will close out the schedule, as Lakeshore will show the Crusaders’ Monday, Feb. 8 game against UIC and Wednesday, Feb. 17 game against Loyola, both with tip times of 7:05 p.m.

“Lakeshore Public Television is proud to present Valparaiso University men’s and women’s basketball again this season,” said Lakeshore Public Television President and CEO Tom Carroll. “When Crusader fans can’t make it to the game, they can turn to us. Our two new mobile production vehicles will ensure that Lakeshore Sports broadcasts will be better than ever.”
