WHO WE ARE

684 acres of parkland

Our staff provides meticulous care for our facilities, shelters, green spaces, streetscapes, lakes, gardens and wooded areas that facilitate connections to our vibrant ecosystem…and each other. People meet, socialize, learn and create community in our spaces that we tend to with great care.

23,779 flowers

Valpo Parks’ skilled horticulture staff produced, planted, and nurtured flowers and foliage all over city streets, roundabouts and other public property. And let’s not forget the 7,455 spring bulbs and 101 trees that were planted!

13 miles of pathways

Our Pathways and Greenways allow thousands of residents and visitors to have non-motorized access to schools, retail shops, public transportation, and major indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities…in all weather!

30 community golf holes

Take a swing at our 2 beautiful courses on 306 acres. Residents and visitors enjoy the links at Forest Park as well as the driving range and Training Center at Creekside. Simulate your swing inside, join a league or take a lesson, it’s all here.

27 athletic fields

Our fields allow for a diverse range of sports and other activities. From Soccer to Softball, these fields provide the opportunity to interact with coaches and teachers who often turn into mentors and role models. We are a Fit City!

14 children’s playgrounds

From small neighborhood parks to the newly rebuilt, state of the art 17,000 sq. ft. all-inclusive ValPLAYso: The Next Generation!, we all love to play. By providing safe, close-to-home opportunities, we stay physically active while connecting to neighbors.
