Pulfer Returns, Babineau Sent to Disabled List

logoThe Railcats activated infielder Danny Pulfer from the disabled list and placed catcher Ryan Babineau on the DL retroactive to May 30 with an injured groin.

Pulfer was placed on the disabled list retroactive to May 28 with concussion-like symptoms. The Lakewood, Calif. native is hitting .227 (5-22) with one double, two RBI, and nine walks in eight games for the RailCats, filling in at second and third base.

Ryan Babineau last appeared for the RailCats in the team’s 1-0 victory over Sioux City on May 29. He was removed from the game after scoring the game’s only run in the second inning on Zac Mitchell’s run-scoring single.

Babineau is hitting .200 (7-for-35) to start the year with two doubles and three RBI in 11 games for the RailCats. In his absence, Craig Maddox and recently signed rookie Tyler Smith will handle the team’s catching duties.
