Valpo opened the day, contested in the traditional format, against #11 McKendree, but struggled in an 1110-817 loss. Sophomore Carly Larson (Merrillville, Ind./Merrillville) led the Crusaders with a 207 in their second match of the day, but it wouldn’t be enough, as they fell 983-867 to host #4 Central Missouri. A rematch with #11 McKendree marked the final match of the tournament for Valpo, but despite a 220 game from sophomore Alyssa Meade (Chesterfield, Mich./ L'Anse Creuse North), the Crusaders dropped a 974-935 decision.

Decker represented the Crusaders on the All-Tournament Team after a strong weekend, averaging 210.6 over the tournament’s 12 matches, fourth-best among the tournament field. Decker broke 200 in seven of her 12 games, including two efforts above 250.

Valparaiso (41-51) returns to action next weekend at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic in Smyrna, Tenn., hosted by Vanderbilt.
