Purdue Calumet Senior Aaron Davis Tabbed to All-CCAC Second Team

PUC-PeregrinsAfter a breakout season that saw him set career marks in nearly every major statistical category, Purdue University Calumet senior Aaron Davis selected to the all-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference second team, as announced by the league office.

Davis, a 6-foot guard from Peoria, Ill. (Richwoods), averaged 13.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.2 steals per game in his final season in a Peregrine uniform, a year after missing his entire junior campaign with a wrist injury.

He shot 43.4 percent from the field and led the Peregrines at the free-throw line with a 77.2 percent (129 of 167) clip. Davis started all 30 games for Purdue Calumet (15-15) and led the league in steals per game (2.1 in CCAC play) and minutes played (36.7).

He set a season-high in points in a 29-point outburst in a win at Calumet College of St. Joseph Feb. 18. In 2014-15, Davis also set single-game highs in rebounds (11), assists (7) and steals (8).

In just two seasons, Davis finished his career with 650 points, 233 rebounds, 161 assists, 109 steals, and 188 makes from the free throw line, where he shot a career 73.4 percent. The 188 makes stands second all-time in Peregrine single-season history.

Davis was the lone Purdue Calumet selection on the CCAC All-Conference team, as Cardinal Stritch’s Tony Smit was named the league’s player of the year. Indiana South Bend’s Oosha Mitchell was tabbed the CCAC Freshman of the Year and University of Saint Francis Head Coach Ryan Marks was selected as the Coach of the Year.
