VU-Crusader-Freshmen-Honored-as-Horizon-League-Announces-Postseason-AwardsThe Horizon League announced its postseason awards Monday afternoon, and a pair of Crusader freshmen cleaned up.

Dani Franklin (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/George Washington) was named Freshman of the Year, Sixth Player of the Year, and led the All-Freshmen Team. Franklin amassed a league-best 44.2% from three-point range during a regular season that yielded a 13.0 points per game average for the rookie. She scored 15 or more points twelve times this season, and logged 20 or more four times in league play. Franklin finished in double figures in all eight road contests within league action.

Classmate Jasmyn Walker (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores) joined Franklin on the All-Freshmen Team. Walker strong-armed her way into the Valpo record books, posting 241 rebounds during the 2014-15 season. That figure represents the tenth-most by a Crusader in a single season. With ten more boards, she can possess sole possession of the sixth place. Walker accrued an 11.4 PPG and 9.7 RPG average in league play. She accumulated nine double-doubles in 16 conference contests, the second-most of any player.
