Purdue Calumet Signs Lowell’s Martin Estrada

PUC-Purdue-Calumet-Signs-Lowells-Martin-EstradaPurdue University Calumet head cross country coach Stephanie Beck added another recruit to her 2015 class with the recent signing of Martin Estrada Jr.

Estrada, a 2015 graduate of Lowell High School, will enter his freshman season for the Peregrines this fall.

“Martin will add solid depth to our growing men’s program,” Beck said of Estrada. “He comes from a great running high school in Lowell and his potential is very high – I believe is best is yet to come.”

Estrada was a member of the Lowell 4x800-meter team that placed third at the Northwest Crossroads Conference meet and advanced to regionals. He also was a part of the Red Devils cross country squad that reached Semi-State.

The son of Martin Sr. and Jennifer Estrada, Martin plans to study civil engineering at Purdue Calumet this fall.

Under Beck's leadership, the 2014 Peregrine men's cross country squad shattered the record book, setting the individual 8K mark four times along with program-bests in team finishes and individual finishes at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, where the team placed fifth.
