VU-Womens-Golf-to-Host-2019-MVC-Championship The Valparaiso University women’s golf team will host the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Championship, becoming the first Crusader team to host a conference championship event since the University joined the MVC on July 1, 2017.

The event will be held at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton, Ind. from April 14-16, 2019. It will also mark the first time the Valpo women’s golf program has hosted a conference championship event.

In head coach Jonathan Haas’ second season in 2017-18, the program made the leap to the prestigious Missouri Valley Conference after 10 years in the Horizon League. Valpo enjoyed one of the program’s best seasons, finishing with a team scoring average of 326.06, a mark that ranks fourth all-time. The team finished the season strong, setting season lows three straight rounds in the MVC Championship in Newton, Kan., culminating with a 315 in Round 3. Valpo finished with a 953 over the three rounds, a mark that ranks fifth in program history for 54-hole team score. That was Valpo’s second-best conference championship performance in program history and the best since a 950 in the Horizon League Championship that spanned April 26-28, 2013.

The MVC also announced host institutions for its other championships on Thursday, including women’s soccer (Loyola), men’s soccer (Evansville), volleyball (Missouri State), softball (Bradley) and baseball (Illinois State). The full list of championship sites is available below.
