Viking Gymnastics Team Tops DAC Invite

The Valparaiso High School gymnastics team, ranked #1 in the state, won the Duneland Conference meet on Saturday, with a score of 112.55. The Vikes defeated five teams ranked in the top 20 in keeping their undefeated streak alive.

The highlight of the meet was VHS’ performance of the Uneven Bars to seal the victory. Morgan Algozine, Hannah Erwin, and Allie Lazerwitz placed 1-2-3 to finish with an exclamation point. Algozine won three events and All-Around with a personal record score of 38.75. Allyson Kraft contributed a fifth and sixth and Emily Crosmer (10th on vault and the Uneven Bars) rounded out the Viking team effort.

VHS will compete in the Sectional this Saturday at Chesterton High School. Competition starts at noon.
