Meet the 2013 Valparaiso Vikings Softball Team

 Kennedy Minko

“Just getting to know all the girls, because I’m a freshman. It will be great competition.”

Anna Beischer
Grade: Junior
Position: Catcher
“Getting along with everybody and bonding as a team.”

Gabby Vinyard
Grade: Senior
Position: Outfield
“Ending my senior year with a really fun team, and also playing with my sister.”

Mimi Austin
Grade: Junior
Position: Outfield
“We have a lot of new girls this year, so I’m just looking forward to getting closer to them and having a good winning season.”

Natalie Girman
Grade: Senior
Position: Outfield
“We have a lot of new talent coming in this year with our group of freshmen, so I’m really excited to work with them and see how our season turns out.”

Molly Grant
Grade: Senior
Position: Infield
“I’m just looking forward to kind of surprising people, because a lot of people don’t expect us to do well.”

Andi Sarkisian
Grade: Senior
Position: Outfield
“I’m most looking forward to growing closer to my teammates and having an awesome season with a lot of wins.”

Evann Grabow
Grade: Sophomore
Position: Pitcher/Outfield
“I think we have a good team this year, and I think we’ll have a stronger season than last year.”

Abbey Thomas
Grade: Freshman
Position: Infield/Outfield
“I’m looking forward to showing what I have. Being on the varsity level as a freshman is a little scary, so I want to be able to prove myself to the upperclassmen and show myself to everyone.”

Kathy Minko

“Definitely rebuilding from last season and building on all of our strengths and being able to come together for one common goal.”

Olivia Vinyard
Grade: Freshman
Position: Outfield/Infield
“Just being together as a team I think is the best part. Just bonding and everything, because we’ll have a lot of fun, and that’s what I’m excited for.”

Megan Krantz
Grade: Freshman
Position: Pitcher/Infield
“I’m looking forward to playing Chesterton because my travel ball team is a lot from Chesterton, so I’m excited to play them.”

Ashley Kleist
Grade: Junior
Position: Infield/Outfielder

"I look forward to working together to win, do our best and be a family."

“To be truthful, I don’t have a date circled on the calendar. I circle them all, I really do. I think every day presents a new challenge for us, whether it’s mentally or physically.”
