As the high school boys basketball season enters sectional play, Northwest Indiana retains three teams in the top 20 of the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) poll.
In the latest poll released on Monday, Lake Central was the highest ranked local team, garnering the No. 8 spot. Bowman Academy (14) and Munster (15) were other area teams ranked.
Chesterton, Michigan City and Valparaiso all received votes in the poll but were not included in the rankings.
