Anthony Lemon, Brian Leach-Hudson and Chris Hebb all crossed the plate and Ryan Washington drove in a pair of runs on a single in the fourth inning for visiting Michigan City (4-1), who prevailed in the Duneland Athletic Conference contest.

Scott Thomas earned the victory on the mound for the Wolves, striking out nine and walking four.

Cameron Watt and Drew Jones drove in runs for La Porte. Evan Miller dropped to 3-1 on the year, taking the loss on the mound.

La Porte had a runner reach second base in the bottom of the seventh, but Michigan City was able to force a double play to end the game.

The Slicers (6-3) will host Goshen next.

Portage 3, Lake Central 1 (Softball)

Kaitlin Doud hit a pair of home runs and added a solid defensive effort to propel the Lady Indians in the DAC game. Kiley Jones struck out six on the mound and hit a home run to help her cause.

Adrien Hall added a double for Portage.

Lake Central 15, Portage 4 (JV Softball)

Becca Block (2-for-3) had a double and Aliison Stanley went 2-for-2 for Portage.

Lake Central 12, Portage 1 (Baseball)

A home run from Peter Psomadelis was the lone tally for Portage.

Portage 4, Griffith 1 (Girls Tennis)

Emily Sajda won at No. 2 singles and Sammie Thompson at No. 3 singles for the Lady Indians.

Patty Mota and Gabby Ziulkowski joined Lauren Wilk and Emily Vahary as doubles winners for Portage.

Chesterton 104, Michigan City 28 (Girls Track)

The Trojans won several events, including the 3200 relay, 400 meter dash and 800 meter dash.

Kaitlin Loehmer was the winner in the pole vault event, with a score of 9-00.

Michigan City won the 400 meter relay.

Chesterton 69, Valparaiso 63 (Girls Track)

Jordan Kincy won the 100 meter dash (12.97 seconds) and 200 meter dash (26.70) to help the Trojans win the DAC rivalry match.

Valparaiso 88, Michigan City 40 (Girls Track)

Natalie Gruszka (2:29.21) won the 800 meter dash to lead the Vikings.

Elisha Martin won the 100 and 200 meter relays for the Wolves.

Lake Central 14, Portage 5 (Freshman Baseball)

David Herrod went 3-for-3 and Shayne Devine and Danny Calo each had a hit and a pair of RBIs for Portage in the loss.
