With a final team score of 300, the Boone Grove High School boys golf team was victorious at the Forest Park sectional hosted by Valparaiso High School on Friday. The Wolves were led by Jeremy Schaeffer-Flatz, who was the individual medalist with a 71 - one over par.
Chesterton (321) finished runner-up and were followed by Portage (322), Valparaiso (323), Hobart (348), Morgan Township (379), Wheeler (405), Hammond Clark (405) and Bishop Noll (526).
Boone Grove, Chesterton and Portage advanced as teams.
In addition to Schaeffer-Flatz, golfers that shot under 80 at the sectional were the Wolves’ Brad Bobrowski (74), Jordan Hensan of Portage (76) and Valpo’s Thomas Walsh (78) and Jacob Woodward (79).
Advancing to the next round of post-season play as individuals were Walsh, Woodward and Wheeler’s Brad Young, who totaled an 80.
