Session 1 of the Viking Wrestling Club will take sign ups on Tuesday, October 27and Thursday, October 29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the field house at Valparaiso High School. Wrestlers will need their birth certificate and insurance information in order to register. The club is for youth age 5 – 12 or through 5th grade, with any level of wrestling experience as an introduction to the sport of wrestling. They will have the opportunity to learn the basics of wrestling along with some exposure to local competition against wrestlers with similar skill levels.
Session 1 runs through November and December. Practice begins November 3, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the VHS field house, entering on the north side of the building door #5. Wrestlers will need a completed physical form handed in by the first practice. Wrestling shoes (not to be worn outside), head gear and mouth piece are also required for each wrestler to participate in practices and meets.
