Marquette Catholic 42, Calumet 34
The Marquette Catholic girls basketball team was back in action on Tuesday evening versus Calumet High School in conference play. In the JV contest Marquette was victorious with a 43 to 11 win. Leading the way was Hannah Nolan with 17 points, Shellaya Miller chipped in with 10 points and Nadia Flores had 8 points.

In the Varsity match up Marquette was able to pull out a 42-34 win after being down four at the end of the first quarter. Leading the way was Stacey Barron with 16 points, Mackenzie Marovich with 9 points and Bella Kaplan with 6 points.

The Blazer (4-6) will be back in action on December 20th when they travel to North Newton in a conference matchup. Tip off for JV is at 11am with Varsity to follow.

Boys Basketball

Portage 50, Lowell 39
The Boys varsity basketball team defeated Lowell in hard fought defensive game 50-39. The Indians were led in scoring by Jordan Collazo with 17 followed by Shamari Lewis 15, Canaan Cooper 10, Jordan Olson 4, Andre Johnson 2, Tyler McCann 1, and Kevin Jenkins 1. Nathan Cherry gave the Indians a solid defensive effort as Portage won their 4th game in a row to improve their record to 5-1. Coach Snodgrass would like to put a "big" shoutout to the student section who made the long trip to Lowell to support the Indians.
