vhs-logoVHS girls’ basketball senior Ari Gerdt has received an invitation from Hoosier Basketball Magazine to attend their Top 60 workout. This is the selection showcase for the Indiana All Star team. Congratulations Ari and best of luck!

The Gymnastics team, ranked #2 in the State, defeated #10 Merrillville 113.3 to 109.125. The Vikes took first through sixth place on floor en route to a 29.2 team total, Rachel Moneta (9.775), Lizzy Wilson (9.725), Jenna Algozine (9.7), and Whitney McKeon (9.6) coming up with big scores. VHS also went first through third on Vault, 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th on Uneven Bars, and 1st, 3rd, and 5th on Beam. Seniors Moneta won Floor and Vault, and Algozine won Uneven Bars and Beam. The two have been part of two State Championships, one State runner up finish, two DAC titles, three Sectionals and three Regionals, as well as earning individual All-Conference, All-State, and individual State medals. Whitney McKeon won All-Around, with Moneta second and Wilson third. Team II won 101.275 to 94.7, with Eden Roberts winning All-Around, Katie Pastoret won Vault, Hannah Falk took Uneven Bars, and Ella Montgomery winning Beam. The Vikes are now 9-1 in dual meets this year, and will compete in the Conference championship Saturday at Crown Point.
