BFMS Cross Country Teams Show Determination in Meet Against Willowcreek

As the Ben Franklin Vikings boarded the bus on this gorgeous Saturday morning, you could see their looks of determination and preparedness to show the other teams how tough they were. Many of these hard working athletes would be bringing home a victory for the first time in their cross-country careers. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect and all runners used this to their advantage.

The 8th grade girls received third overall with a score of 86. Two Ben Franklin runners received medals for placing in the top fifteenth portion of the race. Ellie Joll received second place with a time of 11:46, her personal record for the season. Sydnye Nosbusch received fifth with a time of 12:16. This was Sydnye’s personal record for the season also. Julia Dooley, Sara Kupsis, Brittany Brice, and Nerissa Siweitz followed behind closely to help.

The 8th grade boys also finished third overall with a score of 93. Daniel Dalton finished fourth with a personal record for the season at 10:28. John Buggeln and Ben Hardwick had an excellent finish close behind Danny to help them receive personal records for the season. Aaron Finley and Ethan McChristian also followed close behind to help Ben Franklin gain the upper hand.

The 7th grade girls received a well-deserved second place overall with a score of 85. Julia Rohde ran this 3k race with a time of 12:25 to give her sixth place. Allie DeTorrice, 12:46, and Emily Miltenberger, 12:48, followed in closely behind at tenth and twelfth place.

The 7th grade boys also ran an admirable race and were determined and focused all the way up to the finish line. Ian Holmes came in eighteenth overall with a time of 11:43. Theran Coulopoulas, Gianni Pupillo, and Caleb Gall finished next.

The 6th grade girls came home with a first place overall with a score of 63. Logan Ferngren received fifth at 13:00, Taesa Stock received ninth at 13:14, and Elena Kipp received twelfth at 13:22. These girls worked hard for this win and will continue to shine as the season continues.

The 6th grade boys also received a first place overall with a score of 37. Carlos Martinez received second with a time of 11:29, Blaise Sellers received eighth with a time of 12:02, Nathan Budnik received ninth with a time of 12:07, and Gunnar Pullins came in twelfth place at 12:14. Curtis Jones followed in closely at sixteenth place with a time of 12:30. These boys ran great and will continue to improve as the season moves forward.
