South Haven Boy and Girls Club put on their annual Battle of the Badge tournament once again this year, having doubled their team support from last year, and quadrupled from the first two years.
This is a tournament of heroes vs. heroes as the local fire and police departments are pitted against one another in a game of basketball.
When they started, only two teams took part in the games, but now four years later, eight departments played, including new teams: Valparaiso Fire Department, the Valparaiso Police Department, Chesterton Police Department and the Boys and Girls Club.
Ron Ranta, the Boys and Girls Club Unit Director expressed his desire for more people to come and help out, "We need the support. These are our heroes that we're watching play today, and hopefully in the stands are our future heroes."
