The 2012 Valparaiso Vikings 9u travel baseball team are fighters! In the ETS Sports BPA World Series Warm-up, held in Lakeville, IN, the Valpo Vikings have taken the title of "Champions".
The Vikes won their first game against the Indiana Playmakers 10-2! The 9U Boys then took on the Michiana Scrappers and lost a tough game 6-5. This tough loss placed them 2nd in Pool Play heading into the Semi-Finals against the Indiana Playmakers, in which the Valpo Vikings took the win 12-9 , despite a valiant comeback by the Playmakers.
In the Championship game against the Scrappers, the Vikes got a great team effort and held on for 12-5 Win. Game Ball honors went to Matt Levenda for his outstanding offensive and defensive effort. Congratulations Vikings for your 1st Place Finish!
Next up for the Valpo Vikings is the BPA Northern Region World Series on July 25-29 in Owensboro, KY.
