The VROOM Valentines 5k Run/Walk is set for 9 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2014 in Valparaiso.
The race will begin in the north parking lot of Valparaiso High School and finish indoors at the VHS field house, 2727 N. Campbell St. in Valparaiso.
From the north parking lot, runners and walkers will take Campbell Road to Harrison and turn right into the Forest Park subdivision, with a few hills and loop to Sheffield and back to Campbell Road before returning through the north parking lot at the high school and into the field house, finishing on the indoor track.
Splits will be at the 1 and 2 mile markers.
The entry fee is $25 for participants who sign up before February 1, 2014 with a t-shirt included. Registration is $20 without a t-shirt. It be $30 with a t-shirt for those who sign up after February 1, 2014 and $25 signed up after that point without a t-shirt. A race day fee of $30 will be enacted, and t-shirts will be available while supplies last. There will be no race day discounts. T-shirts are guaranteed for all participants registered before January 14.
Overall male and female awards, as well as masters awardsand 162 age group trophies will be given out following the race. A special valentine's gift will be available to all women.
