Local Girls Earn 12 Medals in Drive, Chip and Putt Competition

Local_Girls_Earn_10_Medals_in_Drive__Chi-1Six girls from Valparaiso advanced through local qualifiers to earn spots in the Drive, Chip and Putt Sub-Regional golf competition at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, IN last Sunday.

Wynne Aldrich, Ani Gilliana, Ava Gilliana, Gillian Rossmann, Norah Rossmann and Aninika Johnson earned a total of 10 medals at the competition.

Ani Gilliana and Norah Rossmann were the top two golfers in the 7-9 year old division at the Sub-Regionals. They will both be advancing to the Regional competition in September, at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel.

A joint initiative of the Masters Tournament, the United States Golf Association and the PGA of America, Drive, Chip and Putt offers boys and girls the opportunity to compete in local qualifiers throughout all 50 states during the months of May, June and July.

Top performers at the local level will advance through the Sub-Regional and Regional qualifiers in August and September. The top golfers from the Regionals will earn an invitation to the National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club, April 5th, the eve of the 2015 Masters.
