PTSC Accepting Applications for Student Transfers

porter-township-schools-logoPTSC will be accepting applications for transfer students for the 2014-2015 school year until May 30, 2014. To be eligible for transfer, the family must provide 18 months of disciplinary documentation to the school at the time the application is made. An application will be considered incomplete without this information from the previous school. Incomplete applications will not be considered for acceptance. This criteria will be used to determine if the student meets the requirements for attendance. According to criteria established by the law, the building principal and superintendent shall deny a transfer request based on one or more of the following criteria:

The student has been suspended or expelled for more than 10 school days in the 12 months preceding the request for transfer. The student was suspended or expelled for possessing a firearm, deadly weapon, or destructive device in the preceding 12 months. The student was suspended or expelled for causing physical injury to a student, school employee, or visitor to the school. The student was suspended or expelled for violating a drug or alcohol rule.

PTSC has capacity to enroll the following number of transfer students by grade level:

K: 15 1: 13 2: 2 3: 8 4: 8 5: 11 6: 5 7: 4 8: 9 9: 14 10: 17 11: 6 12: 20
