Thirty-five years later and numerous families and individuals who have been helped through their services, Porter-Starke Services celebrates its 35th anniversary at Movies in the Park on Tuesday, July 14, 2010. Oddly enough, the same year Porter-Starke opened was when the first ever summer "blockbuster" movie, Jaws, showed all over movie theatres in America. So the Spielberg classic was shown to a couple hundred Valpo residents who relaxed amidst a beautiful evening sunset.
"Something was a rumbling in downtown Valparaiso on June 5, 2010, and it was the force of five of Valpo's finest downtown restaurants joining together for the Food and Wine Festival also known as Taste 5. Bistro 157, Bon Femme Cafe, Don Quijote, Paparazzi, and Pikks' Tavern all took part in the event offering the best cuisine in Valpo. Wine and craft beer was on tap as well for anyone needing to quench their thirst in the muggy, summer air. Funky MoJo Daddy is the featured music in the video.
