On Friday morning, Oak Partners and their clients gathered at Dunes State Park for their annual Dunes Nature Walk. Excited for the activities, the group absorbed the beautiful nature that the Region offers while learning more about Oak Partners' exceptional services. Oak Partners has specialized in wealth and retirement planning for over 25 years, but their services provide more than one can imagine. The events that Oak Partners host annually show the level of commitment and trust that this company continually provides.
Oak Partners made the Dunes Nature Walk a success despite the overcast skies. Director of Client Experience at Oak Partners, Crystal DeHaven, explained how Oak Partners is unique in the services they offer.
“I think what makes Oak Partners exceptionally different is the client experience and the level of service we provide to our clients,” DeHaven said.
The Dunes outing was the perfect way for the clients to see how important they are to the company. For Oak Partners, their clients are more than just clients, they are friends. Events like these showcase the relationship that the company builds with their clients and the trust that they’ve earned. DeHaven described some of the other services that Oak Partners also offers.
“We are committed to keeping all of our clients educated and informed,” DeHaven said. “We do a ton of educational events throughout the year.”
Chairman of the Board at Oak Partners and Senior Financial Planner, Mario Ruiz, explained how Oak Partners acts in the best interests of their client base.
“A lot of places will try to sell you a product,” Ruiz explained, “but we manage money for a fee. We are fiduciaries, which means that we are legally bound to act in the clients’ best interest.”
Another reason Oak Partners is a top choice for countless numbers of clients is the benefit of a low cost.
“We are very conscious about costs, so we want to keep our clients cost down,” Ruiz shared, “We use a lot of investments that don’t have a high cost.”
One client of Oak Partners, Vince Shimala, explained how great it is that Oak Partners hosts this kind of event every year.
“My favorite part of this event is being outdoors and away from the everyday routine,” Shimala said.
Oak Partners picked the Dunes as a location for the event, knowing that it holds a special place in the hearts of those in the Region. An Interpretive Naturalist, Cookie Ferguson, guided the tour and shared some fun facts about the marvelous Dunes.
“The area right around Lake Michigan is the fourth most diverse area in the whole United States,” Ferguson stated. “The glaciers have left us five different ecosystems!”
Oak Partners mission is to create a personalized roadmap that will one day guide people through life’s milestones. Dunes State Park was a perfect reminder of how everyone can learn to enjoy and invest in those milestones.
