NWI Residential Real Estate Market Closes Strong in 2015

rot2The Northwest Indiana residential real estate market had a strong finish in 2015 for Porter, Lake and La Porte counties over last year at this time, reports Jeanne Sommer, broker/owner of CENTURY 21 Alliance Group.

“The market continues to thrive in residential home sales and average price, as well as a decrease in days to sell,” Sommer said.

Through 2015, the number of homes sold in Porter County was up 9% over the last year. In addition, the average amount of days a home was on the market decreased.

Lake County reports the same. The number of homes sold in Lake County increased 9% and the average sales price increased by 9% as well as the average number of days to sell decreased. Things look positive for Lake County.

LaPorte County also saw an increase of sales up 9%. The average sales price also increased while the average days on the market decreased.

The mild weather has helped the market stay steady leading into the winter. "This will get things started on a high note for 2016." said Sommer.
