The Valpo Parks Golfing Experience

The Valpo Parks Golfing Experience

If you take the short drive to the outskirts of downtown Valparaiso, you will stumble upon Valpo Parks Creekside Golf Course and Training Center, a true hidden gem in the world of golf.

Creekside offers two courses: three-hole Meadows Course and nine-hole Glen Course. These courses provide the perfect environment to learn how to play, polish your skills, and challenge your game.

The course has a 48-station heated and lighted driving range, with other amenities such as covered and heated tee boxes, putting green, and chipping and practice putting areas. Creekside also provides an indoor teaching area alongside a lovely clubhouse with pro-shot and concession services. Undoubtedly, this type of quality service offers a golf experience like no other as it provides a haven for golfers of all ages and skill levels to grow.

All 151 acres of Creekside Golf Course sit on pristine, rich land located west of the city off Highway 130. June of 1998 marked the groundbreaking of the site, with Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) Champions Tour Player Bob Murphy in attendance.

Fall is here, but it won’t be long until we see the depths of winter and the tragic end of golfing season. Have no fear! Creekside offers two virtual golf simulators for an indoor golfing experience to keep up your game all year long.

The course has been recognized nationally by Golf Range Magazine for various awards, such as being featured in the Top 10 New Facilities in America, Top 10 Nine-Hole Course, and Top 100 Driving Ranges.

The First Tee, a youth development organization, impacts the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, life enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. Creekside is the home of “The First Tee,” being one of the original chapters in the U.S.

The course offers both adult and junior leagues. The Creekside team believes that joining a league is an outlet to meet new people, spend time with friends, and brush up your game in a fun and healthy competitive environment.

The leagues offer services to those starting at the age of 7, and also provide leagues for golfers with little experience to those at the intermediate level.

The historical Forest Park Course is another Northwest Indiana favorite and has long been a golfer’s favorite place to play. The course located in the heart of Valparaiso and was established in the 1920s as a six-hole course by William and Blanche Schleman. Forest Park now offers a challenging eighteen-hole course with several elevation changes and relatively small greens.

Now is the time to grab your gear, friends, and go put! To join a league, or learn more information about Valpo Parks Golf, visit http://www.valpoparksgolf.com/.
