Calvary Link: Reaching Out

mark-lackeyI hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend celebrating the independence of our nation. Thank you to all those who took the time to serve here at Calvary Church for the 4th of July event--You helped make our church a warm and welcoming place in our community.

If you are new around Calvary, there are a few events for you to check out. This Saturday is our Turbo Catalyst Class, taught by Pastor Jon Nitta. Sunday Night is Coffee with the Pastors. I hope you will join us Sunday night for a hot cup of coffee and a chance to get to know our staff at Uptown Cafe.

I look forward to worshipping with you all again this Sunday. You won't want to miss the message from Jon Nitta, Pastor of Spiritual Formation on How We Should Help the Poor in James 1.26-27.

Global Missions
Calvary is sending out two mission teams this month. High School students are going to help build a new home for the Girls of Guatemala, and a group of adults are going to Mitaboni, Kenya, to construct a playground. Please be praying for both of these teams as they represent Calvary and spread the gospel around the world.

If you have a desire to serve the women and girls of Guatemala, you may want to consider joining Stacy Young & Lynette Green for the Women's Guatemala mission trip scheduled for November 1-8, 2014. The purpose of this trip will be sponsoring a retreat for the female staff at the Kids Alive Oasis home and also ministering to the girls who live there. Applications and more information available here.
