The 9th Annual Hoosier Burn Camp Golf Outing was Par-ticularly Great

The weather was pristine on Monday morning as lady and gent golfers prepared for the 9th Annual Hoosier Burn Camp Golf Outing. The event was held at the Lakes of the Four Seasons Golf Course in Crown Point and it was hosted by Tudor Cleaning & Restoration.

“Today’s golf outing is a scramble, or best ball as it’s also called,” James Tudor, owner of Tudor Cleaning & Restoration, said. “We’re enlightening people about the Hoosier Burn Camp and raising money for it. Last year we raised around $20,000 so we’re hoping to top that this year. And in the nine years that this golf outing has taken place, we’re raised around $100,000 for the Camp. I’m so excited about today!”

The Hoosier Burn Camp is a year-round initiative that provides a safe place for kids who have been burned or injured from a fire. They can connect with other burn victims and create friendships and get the attention and time that they each deserve.

At 10am the game began. It was a four-person scramble that brought all kinds of people out to play whether they were the extra talented golfer or more on the novice end. You could hear laughing, playful banter, the smart whack of golf clubs as they sent golf balls here, there and everywhere.

Dave Woodson, Prime Real Estate Agent at Buy NWi and Performance Marketing Manager at his self-titled company DaveWoodson.com, said, “It’s great to be able to come out and support James Tudor and the kids in need at the Hoosier Burn Camp. It’s such a great cause and I’m glad I’m able to support it in some shape, form or fashion.”

After the game was over, participants were treated to an after party with food drinks and loads of fun. Lunch and dinner were also included in their day at the course as well as door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, skins awards, hole contests, and a hole-in-one grand prize for that lucky golfer that manages to make that pure shot.

The Boys and Girls Club of Porter County recently partnered with the Hoosier Burn Camp with a poster contest that the kids from each club participated in. It was to spread the word about he club to more kids and part of the proceeds from the golf outing are going to the local Boys and Girls Clubs. The remaining proceeds go to the Hoosier Burn Camp.
