Jekyll-Hyde-2CST’s new adaptation of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde has met with rave reviews and audiences have just three more opportunities to see this production. Based on the literary classic by Robert Louis Stevenson, this startling new version by Jeffrey Hatcher looks at Jekyll’s choices to unlock the monster within and the dark consequences that follow. Directed by Bob Cooley, this “edgy” adaptation features the seven person ensemble of Andrea Bertch, Kat Lutze, Daniel Matern, Matt McCann, Tom O’Neill, David Pera and Don Taylor playing the over 20 characters required in the script. In addition to the performance that is part of CST’s Halloween Party, the final performances of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are Friday and Saturday, November 1 and 2 at 8 PM. Tickets are available through the Box Office and online at www.chicagostreet.org. Box Office hours are 10 AM to 2 PM Monday through Friday and two hours prior to show time.

Next up for Chicago Street Theatre will be their “Naughty or Nice Holiday Double Feature” with David Sedaris’ The Santaland Diaries for adult audiences and Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells for family audiences. In conjunction with both shows Chicago Street Theatre will be holding a Book Fair at Barnes and Nobles in Valparaiso on Black Friday. The adult production will open on Friday, November 29 at 8 PM and feature The Disposable Theatre Improv Comedy Group as its “warm-up” act. The family show, based on the popular children’s book series by Barbara Park will open on Saturday, November 30 with two performances at 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM. As incentive to see both productions, CST is offering a discount on tickets to The Santaland Diaries when patrons purchase tickets to Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells. Reservations to “The Naughty or Nice Holiday Double Feature” are available online and through the CST Box Office.
