Like the Valparaiso Firefighters Concert in the Park on Facebook to enter to win free tickets!
The Valparaiso Fire Department will be hosting a HUGE end of summer concert on Friday, September 14, 2012. The concert will feature National Recording Artists, Sevenglory, with special guests Red Umbrella and Urbanites. Lighting and sound provided by J Bros Productions, will be top notch, for the full concert experience.
This event will be raising funds for the Valparaiso Firefighters Community Funds. Funds from that account are used to aid in community safety education, scholarships for local high school seniors, and programs for those in need. Programs for those in need include free smoke and CO2 detectors, and Rebuilding Together Valparaiso. Each year the firefighters pick the home with the most needs and do extensive rehab for the owners.
This concert will be a bit of an "encore presentation" for the Urbanites, as their last show as a full band will be in August. Red Umbrella has headed a new direction with their music, so come check it out; we are sure you are going to love it. Sevenglory is working on finishing their latest album "Always Hope," and we are hoping that it will be available for purchase along with other merchandise from all three bands at this event.
Tickets for this family friendly event will be $5 for those ages 3 and older, if purchased in advance. Though we are expecting a sold out event, if tickets are available at the gate, the price will be $10 for those 13 and older and will remain at $5 for those ages 3-12. Tickets can be purchased beginning July 16th, online through iTickets or by calling 800-965-9324. Get your tickets before they sell out!
Be sure to become a fan of the concert's Facebook page, as free VIP tickets will be given away once the page reaches 150 and 200 likes!
We encourage you to bring blankets or chairs, but no outside food, drinks or coolers, with the exception of water bottles, will be allowed in the park. Local restaurants will have a variety of food and drinks available for purchase. Don Quijote and Bon Femme Cafe will both have fresh entrees for purchase. In addition they will be sponsoring a beer and wine tent for those 21 and older. For the kids, the firefighters will have grilled hamburgers and hot dogs available for purchase, and a local pizza place will have slices for sale. For the sweet tooth, Valpo Velvet will be selling ice cream and treats. Soft drinks and water will also be available for purchase at some of the tents.
Volunteers are needed! You will receive free admission plus a free t-shirt for helping out! Shifts last for roughly two hours, but must be available to show up 30 minutes early. If interested, message the Valparaiso Firefighters Concert in the Park on Facebook!
