Valparaiso’s First Responders to Recognize 9-11

The City of Valparaiso’s first responders – Police Department and Fire Department – will host a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at Foundation Meadows Park, 3210 Campbell Street on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011 at 9 am. The ceremony will include a Pledge of Allegiance, led by Cooks Corners Elementary students who will be escorted to the park by the Valparaiso Fire Department Honor Guard. Speakers will include Thomas Wisch, Principal of Cooks Corners Elementary; Mayor Jon Costas, and Representative Ed Soliday.

The public is invited to recognize this important day, honoring the sacrifices made on Sept. 11, 2001 and the sacrifices first responders continue to make each day.
