The Valparaiso High School golf team will begin the 2012 season ranked among the state’s top teams, currently ranked eighth overall in the state of Indiana.
Valparaiso is behind Brebeuf, Columbus North, Warsaw, Evansville Harrison, Zionsville and Avon in the pre-season rankings, accrued by coaches and officials throughout the state. Floyd Central and Evansville Memorial round out the state’s top ten.
The Vikings’ season kicks off officially on Saturday, April 7th as the Frosh/Sophomore team plays at the Lancer Invite, and JV/Varsity squads travel to Rochester, Indiana. The team’s first home meet will be Tuesday, April 10th against Muster and Marquette Catholic at Forest Park Golf Course.
